21" wide x 60" long x 4" thick. The cut is rift to flat to rift with the flat centered and minimal runout down the length of the board.
I figure 12 necks, (8-1 piece and 4 laminated) a 4" chunk for back and side sets and a nice pile of linings, end blocks and the like.
My friend Joe, being an electric guy, saw 4-1 piece necks and 6 solid body blanks.
Of course I could do the b&s sets 2-1 pc. necks, 2 lam necks and 2 solid body blanks.

The one piece necks would be quarter sawn, the lam. necks flat and the b&s sets mostly quartered. The solid body blanks would run flat to rift.

I know which yield would be best for me from a building stand point. But since I've nothing against electrics or trading, what do you all think is the best value for the wood? And who in the Chicago area has mad resaw skills for the B&S piece.

It's always a delimma, to cut it up into what you think you'll use, or save it big to cut out pieces as needed.

A factory, of course, will cut it into stock sizes (necks, or whatever) but what if you decide you need a boat transom?

I vote (you were asking, right?) for keeping it whole till you need something.

Either way, it is money in the bank!

So where did you find this? Owl Hardwoods?

You don't want to use my resaw hog with 1/8" saw kerf? I'll be happy to chew it up for you if you can't find something with a smaller tooth set

Hey John,
Found it on Craigslist. Payed substantially less than what Owl or any of the others would have charged. I might bring it by your place to knock it down to size, but I'd like to see if I can get 4 guitar sets out of that 4 inch thickness.

Dave,
I bought it to make guitars. The last guy had it for 24 years, so this piece had plenty of chances to be something else. Now it's gonna sing. I'd like to find any hidden flaws now rather than when I need a neck.

I dunno, Steve. I think it is probably near useless. It would make a nice doorstop for my shop, so I would reluctantly come by, say 7:00 tonight, to pick it up...

I would make 3-4 solid body blanks then the rest necks for your projects. The solid body blanks go for $100 a pop and that would give you some cash for other things you want.

I just picked up a board of Honduran mahogany as well. 72" x 14" x 2". It's rift sawn as well, about 20 degrees off the quarter and has some nice stripey figure. I've been given various advice on whether the striped stuff is useful for necks though. Here's a picture. Any comments one way or another on stability? And by the way Steven, I'll trade you straight up :)
