Post subject:  Help with bending/gluing binding and side purfling

I am trying to have ebony binding with a small strip of red purfling on the side. Is it possible to glue the side purfling to the ebony binding first and then bend both together in the side Fox bending jig with a heat blanket, or will it just all fall apart?
Thanks,
Bill

Bill,

That's the way I'd do it... glue the red side binding to the ebony first then bend it in the fox style bender. I use CA glue for this.
I usually try to 'gang' the bindings together with masking tape at the ends to avoid the possibility that the binding roll or twist when bending.
regards,
jack

Bill,

It will work! I use Titebond 2 or 3 for this but I think any titebond will work also.
