Have you checked RC Tonewoods?
It's also called Bolivian Rosewood ,or Palisander which it is NOT .
That means Rosewood in French .

Hey Mike

RC doesn't have any in stock right now. The only dealer I could find who had it is Madinter, in Spain. The sets are pretty nice indeed, but the price + shipping makes me cringe a little. I will keep looking and hopefully find something more affordable here in North America. If I don't find a good set, I'll revert to Madinter.

You are right about Pau Ferro (Caesalpinia ferrea or Machaerium scleroxylum), often called Morado, not being a Rosewood, although a lot of people call it Bolivian Rosewood. I attached a picture below of a Pau Ferro guitar I made last year. Great looking wood, and a really nice tone.

The French word for Rosewood is palissandre, which is not the same as "bois de rose", which is actually Tulip Wood (Dalbergia Frutescens), also called Pau Rosa. I always try to get people to use the right word (palissandre), but even after explaining the difference, most continue to use the term "bois de rose" when they actually refering to something else. Old habits die hard... idunno

Cheers

I have a nice classical set that I bought a couple of years ago, but now I am afraid to use it because of what I have read about allergies. I am allergic to almost everything. I haven't gotten around to signing up and putting up for sale.

Hi Pat,

Did you actually contacted Bob to confirm this? Because even if no sets are shown on his web site, he oftens has some in stock but didn't have the time yet to take pictures.
