The reason I made the bars as long as I did, was to allow enough room under the top of the deck to work. When I glue on the back, I use a combination of clamps and go-bars. I added the inserts to lengthen the bars, for use with gluing braces. Sorry I can't help you with where to get springs in the UK. |

I doubt you can make the ones I did for less than you can buy other go bar materials. I just liked it because they are straight, and I don't like all that bowed stuff sticking out everywhere. I could just see myself knocking one of the bars loose, and it, then, acting like one of those domino mazes, and I have go-bars and guitar parts flying all over the place. ![]() |

If you dont mind all the curved bars everywhere, you can buy a bunch of fiberglass rods from this kite building website: http://www.goodwinds.com/merch/list.sht ... fiberglass I am about to order 48 48" rods at 3/16 and 92 stoppers. So I have 48 gobars or more if I cut them for $50 with padded stoppers, not bad. Not sure what shipping to the UK is like though. |

Here is the Ajax item page for the spring I used in my bars. They come 6 to the package for $7.92. If you check the site, they have the specs on the spring. http://shop.springsbyajax.com/product.s ... egoryId=-1 |
