I will be getting this soon. [:Y:] Just wondering if anyone has seen some improvements, or if you are unloading a DVD. I know its a bit early, but some of you pump out one a week or more...

I used his top thicknessing technic along with someone elses deflection measurement as a starting point. But other then that his building technic isn't any different or that different. He likes to center the bridge pin holes in the center of the bridge plate and has his way of sanding the scallops and not triagulating braces is different . But other then that nothing quite different in the videos. Now what he's doing on his may be another story as far as bracing patterns etc.

I haven't copied his particular method -- I do the planes and chisels method. Much less dust in my apartment.... and I don't own a drill press.

On the other hand, the discussion and the insight into what a voiced top is like were very helpful....

One bit that has stuck with me is "If you don't know what sound you are after... How will you ever get it?"

Thanks

John

I can see where that's helpful for someone who doesn't know. All the philosophy didn't do much for me but I was after information and not to interested in that. I may have even dozed off in that part of the class. :P .
