I want to purchase a carbide tipped resaw blade for my 18" Jet bandsaw. I have seen a recommendation for the Lenox Woodmaster CT blade, but thought I would ask for recommendations here before buying. Don't want to lay out over a hundred bucks for a blade, only to find out there was a better choice! |

I've not used the Woodmaster so no opinions there. I switched to a Lennox Trimaster CT, 3/4 tpi. Best thing I ever did. I was going through carbon resaw blades like crazy. I'm sure others will chime in about the Woodmaster but I like the Trimaster. Just curious... anyone out there using the Starrett CT blades? |

There was a posting over at luthiercom.org that had a video on resawing...it mentioned that he had been using the Trimaster blade, but switched to the Woodmaster CT because it had bigger gullets which helped to clear the sawdust. He was using the 1.3TPI Woodmaster CT. I noticed that the 1" Woodmaster is also available in 2TPI. Any advantages for using the 1.3 vs. 2? When I checked the prices at spectrumsupply.com, it looks like the Woodmaster CT is also less expensive than the Trimaster CT, I suspect because of there being fewer TPI. The 1" 1.3TPI and 2TPI Woodmaster CT to fit my saw (133") was $104.76 and the Trimaster CT (3/4" 3TPI) was $176.20. Guess I'm leaning toward the Woodmaster because of the price difference and possible better results with wood. Still would like oppinions from some of the experts here. |

Alan the piece of advice I would give you is to call Bob Iturra here in Jacksonville. He's helped many people settle themselves around this question. His number is 1-866-883-8064. He sells the Lenox line. His catalog is not just a catalog either....it's a resaw bible. Chris |

The Woodmaster CT is a great resaw blade. Go for it. I think you'll find Uncle Bob uses the same. |

Chris...I was wanting to get a copy of the catalog, but when I called that number I got a recording that said the number was not in service. I couldn't find a website for them either. Bob C....thanks. If it works for Uncle Bob, it should work for me! I can't imagine that I will ever resaw the amount of wood that he does. I called Spectrum Supply and they recommended the 1.3T Woodmaster CT if I was only going to be cutting wood, but that the Trimaster would be better if I was going to cut other materials in addition to wood...seems that the Trimaster is a better general purpose blade. I have a smaller saw that I can use for other materials, so I only plan to cut wood on the 18" Jet. Woodmaster CT it is! Thanks! Alan |

Hmmm....there's a blurb in the front of his catalog that talks about cutting costs...I guess maybe that toll free phone number was one of the costs. 904-371-3998 - That's his local number. Either way I think you'll be getting a good blade. Especially if what you are used to is the timberwolf stuff. Chris |
