Does bloodwood binding need to be cleaned with anything before glueing? With acetone or something like rosewoods need etc. It did'nt seem too oily when i bent it. Just wondering before I started in on it. |

Nope, you're fine to use it as is. Could be a bit temperamental to bend at times. |

No, I glued on a Bloodwood fingerboard without doing anything special to it, no problem. |

It was tricky to bend. I busted about 4 pieces. 2 other pieces broke before they even hit the pipe. Thanks for posting. |

Jason, a poll would probably reveal that you're not alone in those problems. Bloodwood has proven the most temperamental in our shop. (But at least it held together until it got to the pipe!) Steve |

Never have had a problem bending Bloodwood on a Fox bender. It's one of my favorite bindings and has always behaved well for me. |

Hi Jason Have done the last three guitars with bloodwood binding. Had one bending failure in a Doolin style bender out of fifteen. No problem or special prep in gluing. Cheers Bob |
