Here it is with a, mostly done, finish on it. I'll do a few more sessions on the back and sides to clean up the pores that are left, but it looks OK. Most of you know the history of this one. Attachment: P1010909 (Large).JPG Attachment: P1010883 (Large).JPG Attachment: P1010885 (Large).JPG The sound is good, fuller than #1, but still with the complex highs and much nicer bass. I'll try to get a "Ringer" to play a clip for me. You don't want to listen to my playing. Thanks for looking. |

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I was glad to hear your perspective at ASIA, David. You made some good points, and your guitars are immaculate. By the way, nice article in "Guitarmaker". I didn't see it till I got home and got my mail on Monday. You have any other secrets up your sleeve? |

Waddy, this is a fantastic guitar! I love the rosette and fingerboard extension. She's a real beauty - especially for your second. Great job. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks, guys! Fred, the next, which I was building along with this one, till I started the assembly in the solera is a Bubinga/Lutz, of similar design, which I can assemble now that #2 is out of the solera. |

Waddy, another triumph! I love your approach to building, and it does produce excellent results, even if this one has tried your patience a little ![]() C'mon, I've heard you play before and it was pretty good, (Let's face it you play better than I can ![]() Colin |

You are too kind, Colin. I'll see if I can put something together, even if it's simple. In my case, when Hambone gets in front of a microphone, he forgets what he's doing! ![]() |

I'm lovin' it Waddy. The headstock is so Everette'ish, and that's some good company! Steve |

Beautiful guitar! If I can get to that point in building I will be very please with myself. Waddy wrote "By the way, nice article in "Guitarmaker". Would someone tell me what Guitarmaker is and how I find out about getting it? I am guessing it is a mag. of some kind but I am not familiar with it. Thanks, Chuck |

Thanks to all of you for your comments. Chuck, "Guitarmaker" is the quarterly magazine of the ASIA (Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans). Go to their website, www.guitarmaker.org, and join up, and you'll get a copy each quarter. My reference was to David LaPlante's nice article, in the current issue, on making marquetry. It's a good magazine directed at building and repair of stringed instruments, and the articles are written by builders and repair professionals. I recommend it highly. |
