this works very well. It isn't instrument grade but it is better than DEFT.

actually Behlen does make aerosol versions of their instrument lacquer and sealer...they even have a cute little kit with toners and an included DVD (rather pricey IMHO, especially if you have no use for the toners)

certainly a decent way for a 'budget' (i.e. no investment into a spray system) finish...

I for one have always massively sucked when it comes to using rattle cans, but with plenty of leveling, etc, I'm sure a fine finish can be achieved...

I used behlen cans before getting a sprayer. I wasn't aware they had instrument grade cans. I used the top coat lacquer and had great results with that. I know the Behlen I use in the sprayer is as good as macfaddens. I do use both as I can get it at 2 different suppliers in my area and that saves shipping on the Hazmat fees.
