Hi Guys, Is there anyone that still cuts there tenons by hand?Well not by hand(that would be a neat trick!) but a good pullsaw or the such.I don't have access to a tablesaw or router setup. I do have a good bandsaw but the table is warped so the accuracy isn't what it could be. How accurate can it be done by hand??anybody any tips for improving accuracy. Thanks in advance for any help. |

It takes a good bit of practice to cut a straight line with a handsaw and you need a good saw with properly set teeth to cut straight. However, with some practice and a shoulder plane to fine tune the fit, it can be done. I do it all of the time, but I have been cutting and fitting joints by hand for 20 years... After a while it is pure fun and faster than setting up a machine. |

I'm on numbers 4+5 now, and I've only ever done it by hand. |
