Anyone ever heard of this way of bracing?

I recall reading that Jimmy D'Aquisto used a bracing pattern called the circle of sound but i have no details of what it was or how you do it. Maybe you can use this info to research it.

Are you referring to Scott Van Linge's "Sound is Round" ("Parabolic") bracing theory?

I believe it is the Jimmy D'Aquisto style, a local luthier here in Cincinnati(http://schneiderguitars.com) was an apprentice of D'Aquisto in the late 70's,in long island. He still uses the "cirlcle of sound" technique, I might have to just go check it out in person, since his shop is like 15min. from my house.
