My friends, a friend of mine just played my resent build. Then he said wow, I WANT ONE OF THOSE. so he askt me what I wanted for building him one ! I said to him, cost for wood and some extras for like nut-files etc :? :D . So about 8-900USD.
My thinking was that he will play it for others and they might in return ask for one to, etc etc. ??

What say you on this. !! ???.

That sounds like how almost everybody else handles their first few commissions. Congratulations and good luck! Mikey

Dam Lars, a commission already, congratulations!!!
That's great, I haven't sold one yet but for what it's worth, that sounds reasonable to me.

If you look at it as training, it's a great deal. Someone is paying for your materials, and tools for future guitars. And you get a reputation for good work, and your friend will be in your debt. laughing6-hehe

At that price you are basically giving it away and undervaluing your work. If you are comfortable with that, then OK, but it has to be communicated to your friend that this is the case. This is as much a favour to a friend as it is a way to finance your pursuit. Anyone who sees his guitar should not expect to get one so cheap.

good luck!

Thanks Douglas. This person is a real close friend we go 20 years back, and he was first my guitar teacher from the start. also, I told him this price if for him and is not to be forwarded to anyone else.
