Ok so I had a bearclaw top that was just screaming Brace me. So I did.

Needs some final sanding and cleaning up, but other than that I am done. feel free to give me critique. this is the second I am doing with lattice beneath the main x. the first sounds super so I thought I should make another this way. this top is Bearclaw sitka from alaskan spruce. looks great, but the tone is not as nice as the german I had for my latest but it rings ok, it has a little shorter ring and more "ping" to it than the german.

So the Sitka is heavier than the German (as it would be expected). That exact same German (I have some sets from the same tree, they weight about 430Kg/m3) sounds shorter and pingier than a lighter than usual Swiss top (400Kg, slightly off quarter cut making it a little floppy across the grain and bassy sounding) i used on my forth :)

Other than that, the braces look nice. Although, what thickness is the bridge plate?

Thanks Alexandru. The bridgeplates thickness is 3mm. So did you like the wood from German spruce ? .
