Post subject:  Adjusting Belt Tracking on Performax Sanders

While I was looking for other information on Performax sanders, I came across this tidbit in a review. I know that there have been several individuals who have expresses their frustration at not being able to solve their tracking problems. Maybe this will help.

"I had some tracking problems with the feed belt also. A friend who is a machinest, was watching me run some coca bola strips thru the machine, noted that the machine was "racked" in relation to the base. It was such a small amount that I would have never noticed it. With the machine still mounted to the base, he had me loosen all the bolts holding the base together, and the bolts holding the machine to the base. He then "wiggled" the machine and had me retighten the bolts holding the machine to the base, then tighten the bolts on the base starting at the top and working down. Haven't had a tracking problem since."

Thanks for posting this. I have a performax 10-20. I haven't had any tracking issue but i have to move my unit to the side since i have to share space with my other machines because of my small shop. I have noticed since my floor is not perfectly flat ( roller coaster like in some areas) that some machines can flex which can cause problems . I have to always make sure i have everything shimed level. This is really and issue with my contractors type table saw. If not perfectly level i have fence alignment issues which will lead to les then perfect cuts.
