Post subject: | Help...superglue on fingers |
Hello everyone, I as just trying to fill the pores with superglue. Unfortunately I noticed too late that one of my gloves had holes, so now the pores of my fingers on the left hand are filled as well ![]() Anyways... luckily they are not sticking together, but the thin glue film feels a bit odd and I'd like to remove it. So I went into the bathroom to finf my wife's nail polish remover only to see that it's is acetone free. Is there another "common" household item that I could use (fret file?) thanks, Christian |

I've heard that cooking oil will work but I've never tried it. |

Awesome woody, Your suggestion of the cooking oil together with my activity of pore filling and possibly the fumes of the CA inspired my to use pumice with olive oil as a lubricant... so I french polished my fingers (without the shellac ![]() Worked great - most of the superglue is gone and I'll remove the rest after I'm done tonight. thanks a lot, Christian |

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought the first post would read something like, "helpp. fngers glllued 2 gutar. typiingg with nose. snd smooone" Seriously though, sandpaper does work well. |

CA will easily peel off your skin after a few hours as natural oils are exuded by your skin. No need to go crazy with the acetone or sandpaper. Both of those will damage your skin to a degree. |

I second Barrys suggestion. Just give it a little time and it will fall off. As long as your fingers are glued together. The Fett would do it too. |

I don't know; It feels sorta normal these days... ![]() Seriously, you can peel it off after a few hours. Just don't rush it, or you may take off more than you wish! Paul |

I've always been partial to picking off Titebond. Harkens back to Elmers as a kid in elementary school. Darrin |
