Anybody ever use Lizard Spit on their fretboards? Just wondering if it is as good as they claim.

Bill--

I picked up a bottle of it six or seven years ago at Elderly and use it on my own guitars. I use it sparingly once a year -- sort of an annual spring cleaning. It hasn't done any harm but there are so many opinions about fretboard oils that I hesitated to reply. beehive

One bottle seems to be a lifetime supply! It keeps the boards looking nice -- I don't have an informed opinion on whether of not it helps the wood. :)

Howdy Jim!

Hey, what ever came of "Old Stella"? Never saw anything past Stage One. idunno

The Stella is back together and doing OK, with the exception of being locked away in a case! This may sound like a strange confession to make on this forum, but I'm trying to get the rest of our house in order before beginning to get a shop put back together here in NC. The new job is great, but a bit intensive time-wise, not leaving a lot of spare time so far for recreational outlets!

I'm hoping to get the shop (bonus room over garage) outfitted by the end of the summer and get back to building. I'll try to find the CD's with stored pics on the Stella. It was a hoot doing the rebuild and I'm looking forward to doing a few more. The old guitars are a lot of fun to play.

Doesn't sound strange to me Jim. I know exactly what you're talking about. [:Y:]

Not strange to me either. I spent a year on our house before I put my shop back together.

LIZARD SPIT FRETBOARD CONDITIONER
Made here in Michigan! Specially formulated with orange oil to prevent drying and cracking of unfinished, porous woods. Also removes dirt and stains and slows oxidation of frets. Good Stuff! 4 oz. bottle.
LSFC .. list $8.95 ours $6.95

very similar to Howards FeedNWax is my guess

acehardware has it for 5.17

Price: $30.99 for 6 ($5.17 each)

I doubt anyone would want six bottles of 16 ounces.

I got a jug at an antiques store for about 10 or 12 bucks.

You gotta love the name lizard spit, what marketing genius! [:Y:]

Yeah, I was sitting at the computer looking at it and I said "Lizard Spit" out loud as my lovely bride was walking by. Her response was "I'm afraid to ask". She knows me too well. laughing6-hehe

Bruce, I put the answer from my Bro-Inlaw in the Off Topics section on your farm implement. :D
