The newest Luthier Tips du Jour instructional video is on Youtube. The topic is Inlay. Subtitles are available in both English and Portuguese and you can translate them into any other language by using the CC option on Youtube.

Sorry but I think there wasn't enought safety on the dust. You need a good filter on the vacuum that just won't blow the micron size dust(that's the stuff that will get into your lungs and never leaves) all over the place. A simple dust mask isn't good enough. It would have been nice to see something to catch the dust under the cutting board and it's a good tip to put some old panty hose over the hose to catch and stop the piece you are cutting when the vacuum sucks it up. Nothing like going through the vac looking for a piece. Other then that not a bad video for a simple inlay.

Chris has an excellent point...the dust from many inlay materials along with bone parts NEVER leaves your lungs and has a cumulative effect...worst case scenario, after years of working with the stuff you end up sounding similar to how many of the first responders at the twin towers sight sound like, and that isn't good...

True indeed. Who said anything about a "simple dust mask" though?
