My first guitar is boxed and ready to send to Joe White bliss

Here are a couple of pics of it in the white. Sorry for the terrible photography. I promise to post some really good pics of it when I get it back from Joe. I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to Michael Payne for mentoring me through this entire process. He is an incredible person and this forum is truly a better place with him as a member. Thanks Michael [:Y:]

"In the white" is one of my favorite points of guitar building.
Just love this stage....
And MAN, getta load of that back! That's beautiful.
Spalted maple?
Spalted myrtle?

Thanks Steve. This is my first time being at this stage and I have to admit that it feels pretty good :D
And you are right on, it is spalted myrtle. I actually got this myrtle wood as well as the lutz top from Shane at High Mountain Tonewood. I cannot wait to see it under finish.

Thanks guys! Mitch, this is Michael Payne's design. It is the OLF SJ model. If you haven't seen them, Michael's plans are absolutely beautiful and incredibly detailed. You can take a look at them here http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Books,_plans/Plans.html

Dave, many thanks. I'll definitely send pics when it's completed. Joe White is finishing it in polyester for me. In fact I just mailed it to him today and I am so excited I can't stand it :D

She's a voluptuous beauty, Dan. All the curves compliment each other so beautifully. Very nice work. You will, of course, post some follow up pictures after the finish in on, won't you?
Congrats on a beauty.

Great looking guitar. I've got a question I'm sure I should already know the answer to. Who's Joe White. I've read his name a few times lately and I assume he finishes guitars for some people around here. To me the finishing process is very rewarding, and enjoyable but it's ALOT of work.

Woody,

Many thanks! Joe finishes guitars for a lot of folks on this forum and a quick search on his name will turn up lots of posts with lots of pictures of his work. He does absolutely amazing work and I have seen nothing but rave reviews from his customers. This is my first guitar so it's my first time using Joe, but I already know it is going to turn out great [:Y:]
