Post subject:  Polyurethane and Varnish

I just finished my third guitar in Polyurethane. Worked great and buffed up very nicely. Now I'm reading in another thread that it's not such a great finish. It was on a Sapele/Adirondack.

So for my next one I think I'd like to try Varnish. Behlen's Rockhard has been suggested but I'm having trouble finding it. I live in Ontario Canada.

Anyone have a lead on where I could find it or a suitable alternative?

Thanks
Neil

Behlens is a Mohawk product .. the Cdn distributor is Richelieu hardware, so they may stock, or at least be able to get it - the Toronto office is near the airport, but they wont sell to the public I dont think (you need to be a business)

If you read enough you'll read bad (and good) stuff about any kind of finish. While polyurethane isn't my finish of choice if it worked good for you on previous guitars I'd just keep using it.

I use oil varnish from International Violin. Brushes on great and polishes up like a mirror.
