What's up? No one is doing inlays anymore? ![]() ![]() Here are a few to make up for it. ![]() ![]() Thanks for the look- my new site is up as well, not officially completed yet, but it's at least got the new work up. Same address as the last one, www.handcraftinlay.com Thanks! Craig |

Thanks! Yes, they are all hand push grave engraved. The eye sockets and nose are actually black velvet oyster (American oysters- like the ones we all know so well) it looks pitch black until just the right angle, the it gets this deep sheen effect, like purple ripples on black. It's not a substitute for other black materials due to it's price, but for something like this that needed an extra aura of slightly eerie to it, it's really cool. Craig |

I love it!! You did a stunning job on the engraving. Can't wait until I can get that kind of control. So well done. ![]() |

Chris, nice idols, I know someone else who does fish inlays around here as well... ![]() Mike, That's really cool! Does your girlfriend know you add her onto all your guitars? That IS your girlfriend right? So this is an official "show us your inlays thread" Get to it! Craig L |

I did use her for the pose, but I changed the face quite a bit, as she has tired of being on the guitars. So, now it's just "some woman". ![]() |

Nice, the skull would look great on one of my guitars. |

Mighty pretty work Craig. I recently took your inlay of sitting bull out to a jam and it was very well recieved indeed. Is that skull for a uke? There see to be only four tuner holes |

John! He lives! How ya been buddy? Long time no hear, hope all is well. Glad to hear sitting bull is still working out for you! That skull is actually on an acoustic bass, so yes four tuners and it's about 2.5 inches tall or more. Chris the hummer body is solid brown lip pearl. Nice stuff, but it sands through easily to a non-reflecting dead black, and it is very laminar- cracks and flakes easy too. often I super glue it from the sides to help hold it together when cutting. Doing great Craig. Thanks. Good to "hear" from you too. I didn't go away mad or anything, just sort of drifted off. Seems like I sort of drifted back. No attention span whatsoever. |
