Ok So Nr1 is done. bliss
What I can say is this. I thought I would be able to go all the way with a perfect instrument ! well I did not. allthough it´s a good looking instrument and I guess that after I have fixt abit with some buzz on the frets and nut heights etc I will sound great. I have some marks on the top due bad sanding hmm. Like I said there are some buzzing on 1 or more frets. I need to find out where etc. I was to fast getting the nut to right height so I might have carved off to much. So small things that I have learned a lot from. But I am not sad I bought great wood for this one as I think that atleast me would have been to uncarefull if I had bought scrap wood. Weel See for yourself. Oh I also made the fretboard a bit to short so the small gap the rosette makes is visable hmm. other that this I am happy with it haha. Sounds crispy and clear but its hard to strum on it as then it buzz some from the frets. time will tell. The bridge is my own kinda design, turned out ok i think.

Woods are :
Back/sides/bindings- RC tonewoods
Neck-Chis at hanalei moon
Macassar ebonys-Stephen at Colonial tonewoods
Fretboard- John at CNC guitarparts.
The insides and extras from John Hall at Bluescreek guitars.

But most of all Thank you guys at this forum whom I consider my true friends and almost family (where is the HUG smiley) :D Without you all I would not have been able to do this at all and that is not just kind words its the truth !!!!!

Also. I am soon done with nr2. ! its a beauty, really happy with how its turning out and I have learned from my mistakes from nr 1. so soon you will see how she look. [:Y:] 8-)

Sincerely your buddy, Lars.

That's awesome Lars! You have plenty of time now to fine tune the setup and get rid of the buzz. From what I understand, the fuitar sound will improve quite a bit in the first few days to few weeks.......so it will just get sounding better and better.

Lars,
Nothing to be ashamed of there! Beautiful first guitar! I wish mine turned out that good. I'm sure you can fix the buzzing. A great resource for setting up your guitar is Kent Everett's new dvd on guitar setup. That will help you troubleshoot your buzzing issues. Great choice of woods and appointments. Look forward to seeing #2!

Thank you all soooo much.
Yes I was actually thinking of getting that video !! [:Y:] .

Nr2. is made from scratch. accept for fretboard that came from John at cnc.... just finished my first neck for it, made a smiley volute on it and it turned out GREAT. really happy with it. never though it would go as smooth as it did. also bent a piece of koa that was put on the back of the necks "head" Just hope the rest will go as smooth.

Tracy, the centerline Finder is such a great tool !! love it. brace maker to !! thanks.

Bravo, Lars. I bet it feels great to have strings on it. Very nice design work and lots of nice details like the shape of the heel. Well done!

Excellent first, Lars!!! I especially like the way you did the heel of the neck. I haven't seen that before.

I had to track down a buzz today on one of my new ones. It only buzzed on two strings from the 15th fret on toward the sound hole. I had a little dip in the top of the saddle. It wasn't visible but I could feel it. Anyway, it's okie dokie now.

You should be very proud of that first build, it's a beauty.

Man, I guess I am going to have to join adifferent forum where the skill level is down in my range. I don't know if I could ever measure up to the standards set here. :D [uncle]

Beautiful guitar Lars. Now get to playing and get to building # 2, #3, #4................

And, figure out a way to record it when you get the set-up finished!

Thanks you all.

The heel was at first a mistake, so I made it the way it is after that haha. But it turned out real nice. Bent some macassar on the pipe to get it to shape.

Lars it turned out great. You've done some great things in a short amount of time. Remember that most mistakes are just a design feature that you hadn't thought of earlier.

Thanks again my friends :D . I am honored!!.

Jonny, the B/S are Black Limba great wood to work with and has similar carasteristics as mahogany I think. great tap tone, but not as much bottom as rosewoods. Do check out our RC tonewoods if you want to find out more about it or buy a set. [:Y:]
