Good job! they both are beautiful, especially the OM. Love that shape more and more lately.

I'll provide more details and pictures once I have them all finished, but yes the one on the left is an OM. It is made of southeast asian rosewood with curly maple bindings and red spruce top. The one on the right is a small jumbo made from figured maple with eucalyptus bindings, and wrc top. It was built using Michael Payne's OLF SJ plans. Many on the forum have seen these in various stages over the past several months as I have sought help on specific issues.

Thanks James. The plan is to shoot them both with Target's Emtech 6000. No stain. All natural.

Lookin' good, Ken.
Why not warm up the maple a bit to better match the cedar?
Also, 'twould make the grain pop more....

Couple of pennies there for you.

A twofer. Really lovely work, Ken. Agree with Steve, about the Maple, although I didn't do anything to my Myrtle guitar and the finish gave it that bit of amber I love without any colorants added before or to the finish itself.

Nice looking units Ken :)

Looking forward to the post with the finishes on. I've got one I plan to spray
with the EM6000 hopefully before May is up. bliss

I'm new to the Emtech, but the USL used to come out a bit on the warm side. I am not a big fan of staining, but I have a number of dyes I use to tint lacquer prior to spraying. May be good to add some tint to the first couple of sprays as these coats will be largely sanded back anyway as the grain gets sealed. As you mentioned, could provide a bit more pop to the grain. Interesting thought. I'll noodle it some before I start shooting tomorrow.

That rosewood looks very interesting, sort of a hybrid of Indian and Madagascar.

Looks like the OM is happy, probably because it's going fishing, the SJ looks sad, because it doesn't get to.

They look great Ken. I'm curious, are you finishing the bodies and necks together?

Woody, The necks are bolt on. I have them on for the sake of the pictures. I'll be spraying necks and bodies separately.
