Hey, I thought you would enjoy having a look at the zoot our easter bunny brought me. ![]() This is my fist coco and I can't wait to fire up the 20-10 and bring this stuff into the shape we all do love. 2 weeks ago I tried to import some Coco sapwood from the States, but they wouldnt let me because of CITES issues. Then I called a local supplier only 40 miles away and drove by this morning. Sometimes the good is not far away. What do you think? |

Hi Christoph, I´m looking for a Cocobolo-Supplier in Germany for a long time now (for a Bass-Project). Would you mind telling me where you get that beautiful Coco from? Thanks a lot Peter |

Why would the CITES be a problem, Cocobolo is not listed is it, or does Germany block all Rosewoods. Fred |

Hi Christoph Wow! Those are just gorgeous sets. I am just finishing my fist guitar with Coco. It was a pain to get through the thickness sander, but the end product was well worth the effort. I got another set in reserve and I'll probably by some more. Cheers Pat |

Thanks a lot Peter sure Peter: The shop is called Espen AG (located north of Frankfurt). All I know is that Hibdon refused my order for CITES reasons... ![]() |

CITES lists Dalbergia retusa under Appendix III, but only mentions the Guatemalan population. Colin |

"It was a pain to get through the thickness sander" Pat, what grit do you have on your thickness sander? I just did 3 sets with 60 grit and had no trouble. I had resawed them pretty thin and didn't need to sand too much off the pieces. My brother used the same wood with 80 grit and he said that he had trouble with gumming up the paper. Beautifull stuff you have there. |

That is some nice looking zoot! I really need to learn more about visually recognition of wood. I SWEAR that wood looks more like Amazon Rosewood to me than Cocobolo. Either way - it looks GREAT. |
