I have been buying 2" cloth abrasive rolls for my Delta 18/36 in the bulk boxes and discovered that Delta has discontinued selling the large rolls. It gets expensive when you have to buy them in the 4-packs. There has got to be a source for rolls of the 2" cloth abrasive rolls in bulk. I've noticed that 3M sells 50 Yard, 2" Utility Abrasive Rolls. Has anyone tried this product or have a recommendation for another source? Mike Franks www.mjfranksguitar.com |

I came across these folks, but have yet to try them out. Prices seem good enough to sand cocobolo, anyone have experience with them? http://www.supergrit.com/default.asp |

Larry, you're awesome! I called Econ Abrasives and found that they will custom cut 2" wide x 50 yd. rolls of any grit size for $37.00 per roll. I was told that their material is the same make as used by Delta & Jet. They also supply spindle sander sleeves (for under $2.00) and can supply discs, sheets, etc. What a savings over buying the Delta 4-packs at $30 - $40! By the way, 50 yards will yield 13 pieces for the 18/36 Delta Sander. MIke Franks www.mjfranksguitar.com |

I deal with these guys for other stuff, and the prices are good for me. They'll do any sort of custom belt you want at pretty good prices! http://customsandingbelts.com/ |

I have used the 3m and i think it works fine. I have recently bought some rolls for my sander from klingspor below. Cheaper compared to the 3m. I have a jet drum sander and buying the jet precut belts is pretty expensive compared to buying it by the whole roll. I have to use a original belt as a cutting template though because the jet belts taper on one end before it attaches to the drum clip...Mike http://www.woodworkingshop.com/ |

Greetings, Klingspor makes great material for your drum sander. You can look them up directly on the internet or go to www.woodworkingstore.com. This is their retail outlet. Four locations in North Carolina. A lot of times you can find the stuff on sale or other sanding items. They have been selling their orbital sanding paper for $5.00 a box of 50. It is a great deal Ken |

Industriaabrasives.com sells a roll for $70, which has enough to make 19 sets. Works out to less than $4 to wrap up your drum sander, which is a great bargain. |

You use 2" wide paper for your drum sander? I use 3" on my Performax...any reason why 2" would be preferred? |

Erik, you need to use what your machine is designed for. The Delta's are designed for 2" rolls. |
