What do you use? Canton Flannel, loose sewn, Cotton, loose sewn, or cotton spiral sewn? How many wheels? I was thinking three on the shaft. Mike |

I use canton weave cotton. Two on each side. We had two buffers I used daily at McPherson. One had two wheels per side and the other had 4. The one with 4 became unstable over 1050 RPM. I much preferred the one with two. The advantage to the more wheels though was it heated up less, and was much less prone to grabbing edges. |

Hey John! Glad you are feeling better! I was thinking about these: http://www.caswellplating.com/buffs/canton.htm I could also do cotton (not flannel), what do think of these? They are loose sewn. I was thinking the spiral sewn would be too stiff. I don't plan on going over 800 rpm. I also plan to use my drill press as the driver. Not sure I want another freestanding tool  I will prolly get opinions on that. Hows the new shop coming along? Mike |

I just got some of these wheels but have not yet used them, they sure are soft. I will start wet sanding my Cocobolo 000 next week and will finally get to try my buffer. Fred |

Hey Fred, Do you mean the loose sewn canton flannels? I'm just trying to zero in on the right one. How about buffing compounds and final wax? (swirl remover) Just sitting here with the credit card ready to fire! Mike |

One final question, which menzerna compounds (two)? And what final Meguires swirl remover? (or is it just that "swirl remover")? |
