We all string guitars. But we all do it a bit differently. I used Frank Ford's method he teaches on Frets.com until now. As soon as I get one of these winders, I may switch. Take a look. Okay, I heard him say they rework the winder inhouse, and where do they get the little plastic socket for the Skil Twist? |

Stew-Mac has the Zap-It EZ Winder. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Accessories ... inder.html |

![]() Okay, now all i need is a winder like the Skil Twist. My Porter Cable drill motor might be a wee too big and fast, even if it is variable. four bucks or so, not bad. |

That's longer than it takes me to take old ones off and put a new set on. ![]() And I'd say not to bother with that winder. The TurboTune winder (used to be Dean Markley, now made by Dunlop) is much more versatile, fitting many more style of buttons. |

Just watched this again. No wonder I couldn't find this driver, I was looking for a Skil Twist Driver. In the video, I finally saw that it says Black and Decker on this thing. ![]() Hey David, What's a TurboTune? |

![]() It has stepped slots that fits and self centers on just about every common size tuner button. I've always used them in a regular cordless drill. |

I use a regular cordless drill too, i aint got time to sit around and watch strings a' winding! If my customers saw how fast i use it, they would probably never send their guitars to me again(which is why i dont let them see it in action!) Like David said, the turbo tune is "the one", i think stew mac has it, but i dont remember where mine came from. |

That's the one I use too David. I can use all these amazing tools in front of a customer and when I bust out the drill to put on strings they think it is the greatest thing ever. ![]() Best, Evan |

Thanks guys I hear ya on the TurboTune. Question: One reviewer gave it bad marks over Grover machine buttons, the big thick ones on the standard Grover tuning machine. Will the Turbo Tune work on the Grover buttons? I think he was just blowing.... |

The Zap-It EZ Winder's break too easily. The TurboTune is just about indestructible and a better fit on the tuners. Kent |

Thanks for the tip. Didn't see the TurboTune on SM so I bought it here. Unfortunately I then crammed a bunch of other stuff into my cart to reach over $99 and get free shipping. Funny how that works... ![]() |
