I wanted to mention this compilation again, because it is uniformly good, out of print, but still available
inexpensively from Amazon and other sources. The ISBN is 0-942391-84-5.

There are articles on: toolmaking, by amongst others, Eugene Sloane, maybe the Dean of handmade guitarmaking in America; making an infill panel plane, by Charles Dolan; setting up a Japanese
handplane (kanna) by Robert Meadow, who has probably forgotten more than anyone else remembers, save Jim Blauvelt, about hand-surfacing wood, and many others. There is little misinformation in this book;
most of it is, conveniently, in the back. If you don't buy it, maybe it's worth a request from your local
library- they need the business too :). CW
