I think this is lucky number #13. This was a prototype for my Laskin inspired radiused armrest. I had an issue that needed to be covered, so I worked with Joe on the finish to cover the boo boo. Some edge shading worked great, with the goal of showing as much wood as possible.
This is an OLF SJ shape, with a thin, lattice braced top - parabolic braces.

Top - Lutz
Back and sides - White Oak
Binding/rosette - Manzanita
Radial purfling - Red oak
Head plate -Manzanita
Neck -Mahogany/oak/manzanita

Thanks Greg! Haven't you played Mark's Peace Guitar? It is similar to that one. I like it. This one was built for me. Woo Hoo!

Steve,

The oak looks so nice! Especially with the sunburst, I like it. If you posted a photo of the top bracing that would be cool but no problem if you don't want to.

We are neck and neck as far as guitars go. 14 is on my bench right now!

Greg

wow Steve, she's a real beauty! I really like the bridge, the way it compliment the fingerboard's end... nice job [:Y:] and that burst on the back really pops out the oak, and gives this guitar a slight electric-ish kind of look... which I like a lot, by the way hehe I'm just not all that fond of your choice for the fret markers, but that's just personnal preferences idunno
great craftsmanship [clap]

Steve... I'm a huge fan of your bridge design... and the radial purfling is really nice! (it's one of those things I hope to include in one of my guitars soon).
It's hard to be here (on the forum) to comment on all the beautiful guitars that are posted here... but this is one of those that I would really love to play!

Seems that the cool factor is off the charts on this one.
Great combination of woods, and wow, that oak is amazing!

Thank you all for the kind words. This is my first time for the gold EVO fret wire. I like it a
lot.
Oliver- Those aren't my favorite fret markers either. But they were an easy and inexpensive way to use manzanita on the fret board. This is my second oak guitar. I like the fret markers on the other one better. White oak is great to work with and sounds great.

Here are a couple of pics to compare the two.

Looks great. How would you descripe the 'Oak Sound' relative to other B+S woods?

To me, it is lot like koa. That's funny if you note that oak is koa spelled backwards. [:Y:]

I used a 1/4" plug cutter. I wish I could find a smaller plug cutter, but 1/4" is the smallest one I have found.

That's funny. Koaguitarman (AGF) mentioned that to me and I never questioned it.

The kerfed linings are mahogany.
Is that what you are asking?

Post subject:  Re: Another one completed! (Pics)

Yes, Thanks.I try to use the same as the sides on mine which are usually ash.I was hopeing you tried the oak as i plan on building some oak guitars with oak kerfing. I don't build with mahogany much so don't keep it around for making kerfing.
