Hello,

I want to make a neck holding clamp for tross rod cutting like the one John Mayes uses in his DVD and also shown on this picture below from Kathy Matsushita. http://home.comcast.net/~kathymatsushit ... otjig1.JPG
So I looked at Woodcraft web and see that there are several to choose from. Different size and lbs capacity.
Which one will work? Here is the link. http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=4419

Thanks, David

I'd go for this one:

That said, I cut my truss rod slots on my router table against the fence before I taper the neck, and have no need for any clamping mechanisms. However, I was thinking the other day that a couple of these would be handy on my neck tenoning jig. [:Y:]

I'm with Ken on this one. I use a router table up against a fence. But, I really want to pick up a few of these clamps.

Sorry I can't help with what you are asking.

You don't need but about 60 lb of clamping force to secure for the task. all of these will provide that and more. So you looking for reach as you guideline. That and where you want the handle in the clamped position.
