Post subject: | Scary Sharp Wet Dry made easier, -but QUESTION |
I saw on some site, that the luthier labled his sandpaper on the side with tabs. I just ordered a new set from 80 to 3000, and this works great with a spray bottle of water (was using olive oil! But it gunks up with time) Question:*About how many strokes, on average, do you take when you get into fine grits? I know each succesive grit takes it down to that grit, but to put less wear on the wet/dry paper, when you get above 400, what is the minimum for an average blade? Does anyone have any general rules? *And does the fine stuff wear out/clog quicker? ![]() |

Frei, check out the clip made at bluescreekguitars on youtube. there you will see the whole procedure. I myself just use like 10-15 strokes and move to next, but after a few I feel the edge to know if its time to go to the next grit. Still, I am pretty new at it. But the edges ive gotten are really scary sharp ![]() Lars |

Awsome, I was doing 50-60 strokes. I never thought of a little dishwater Toddstock! Thanks! |
