or are the two even related? i just hand sanded a 20" radius into a fretboard with a radius caul (i will definitely be using a different method next time) and in doing so i managed to sand the bass side down about .010" to .015" lower than the treble side. i figured id just go back out and fix it, then i thought maybe id leave it. other than looking a bit caddywompus if you sight down the fretboard, would there be any advantages/disadvantages to leaving it this way? this is my first guitar by the way. |

No worries and in fact this is often done on classical guitars. Let me guess, you sanded the board from one side and in one direction only? ![]() |

jfmckenna wrote: Let me guess, you sanded the board from one side and in one direction only? ![]() bingo. i was really mindful to keep even pressure and make sure to sand the entire board evenly, but to no avail. fortunately not a big deal to fix. thanks for the responses. not quite sure how to deepen fret slots on a bound board. i dont know if that will be necessary in this case, but any help along those lines? |
