On a larger scale would be great as a binding ring. It looks in many ways like the rigs Bryan Galloup has for big routers for that. I have the plans and although this is much more high tech. same kind of concept. Might be able to use it in inlay (don't know as only use gringer held in hand. |

I rigged up a Dremel drill press as a pin router for logos but this would probably need quite a bit of modification to do that. You'd have to get your hands on it to see if it would work. You could probably find one at your local dentists lab and play around with. Dental tools are always cool. The logo pin router thing thing works well if you can get a negative template made for your logo. TJK

Rod, The guy that CNC's my logo did it for me. I think anyone that CNC's logos could easily make the reverse template. Mine is Corian. TJK |

The head plate sit above the template and the template sits with the routed part face down. It sits over a pin in the base the same size as the router bit being used. The router is set to depth and the template and head plate is guided by the pin. Thus a pin router. You can make one out of a universal binding machine if you have one too. I don't think it is in the picture he shows. |
