I have finally gotten around to putting my DIY kit together and come to the realization that the 1.5" and 2" ports aren't exactly standard. What did you end up using for hoses? |

I don't have one, but I'm going to get one, thanks for bringing this to our attention! I watched the video, it looks like it takes from 2" to 2 1/4" inside diameter hoses. I checked mine and it's 2 1/4" inside. How are you trying to fit the hose onto it? Does yours not taper from about 2" up? Joe |

Joe, there are two models. I have the original which uses and 1.5" and 2". The newer model uses 2" inlet and outlet. It also comes with a set of adapters, a 2" ID to 2.25" ID, which should make it a 2.5" OD, which is what I need for my shop vac. If you get the 2" model, you shouldn't have as much as I'm having. I may check out Home Depot and see what I can find there before I fork over 14.85+ SH for their adapters. Rather pricey as far as I'm concerned. It looks like a there a few hoses out there that will work with the smaller dust generators like my ROS, including one on Oneida's site. I'm just balking at the cost as well as trying to decide the best way to go from a 4" port on my sander to the 1.5" on the Dust Deputy. |

Oh, I see. I went to the H.W. store today and got a rubber coupler to adapt a downdraft table to my shopvac. I think you might do well with one of them too. I paid $4 for it. It's rubber and has two hose clamps. Works like a charm. I think if you get the 1 3/4" inside, it'll be pretty close to 2 1/4" outside. They clamp down quite a bit I got well over 1/4". I forget what they called it, but it's a junction for plumbing. In your case you'd pop off the one hose clamp and stick your shopvac hose over it. Clamp it to the Dust Deputy and you're set. If you can bring something that'll indicate sizes you'll need. I know it helped in my case. As far as the 4" port goes, there's a ton of plumbing fixtures that'd probably work. Try to get one that tapers rather than has a hard shift from one size to the other. That shoulder would be a dust collector rather than a dust passer. Good luck! |

Thanks Joe. I'll take a stroll through the plumbing section and see what I can find to fit. |
