I am perhaps not in a position to comment on this, BUT First I suggest youto hold it differently, find the nodal points usually on above to right or left of the soundhole about 5cm in. Grab it with one finger on each side and tap once and let it ring till no sound remains, hold your ear on the other side of where you tap and listen. IOt might be the how the video takes the sound but I could not hear much of a ring or ping or whatever. how thick is your top ? But again I have not the experience to comment except for the few tops I have made so far "3" haha. but they ring like crasy though. about 3-4 seconds. , tap mostly on the lower bout. and move around. if its dead then move with the fingers your holding the top with, just a cm here and there untill you find the perfect spot.

Any comment on my comment is great learning experience :D

Definately not stupid. I cannot tell you "do this" or "do that" however this seems a great way to keep a record of what you have done. I highly recommend John Mayes advanced voicing video to get a grasp of before and after tap tones. He was able to trim the braces down and really achieve a ringing sound with his tapping. The finger bars are where things usually got going as I recall, but every top was different and no majic thing to do occured. I would keep shaping the braces and also try different spots to hold the top to find the best sound.

Have fun!

Top is .110. I was holding on to the big brace above the hole. I am not sure where you are saying to hold and tap. idunno Plus I am just kind of pecking at it with my finger tip.

You have to tap it and see how long it rings, take off more wood, I would go with a standard plan, your tone bars look a bit heavy.

Your X brace should be capped, the bridge plate is a bit overdone, did you sand the braces yet? I was pretty stiif about using 'a standard plan', but then I played some nice high end guitars. I did a 'test top' and a test guitar, then I got the D-28 herringbone plan.
