Greeting again,

While I am asking about wood, does any one use Pau Rosa for guitar backs and sides. I just purchased a quartered piece of this lumber.

Mine are from Vikwood. I've made a classical with it. It dulls chisels quickly but bends quite easily. I recently taught my wife hand-bending with a set of Pau Rosa sides and it turns out okay. It has low damping and the guitar has lots and lots of overtones.

Yes, I think it's a nice tonewood. There are some photos of a guitar I made from it in the archives.
