Anyone know where I could get a tracing of the outline of a J-185, or if there is, perhaps, some plans somewhere?

I don't know where you can find any John, but had a thought for you. How about phoning or emailing Gibson and seeing if they would mail you a tracing? You never know.

Or zip into the nearest guitar center, see if they have one there. Bring one of your beauties to distract them and trace away :D

Do you have Cad capabilities? I think you could just scale down the J-200 to known dimensions of the J-185 as they are identical shapes, just different sizes (so I'm reading).

Hi John,

I got a tracing of a 50's J-185 from John Hall at Bluescreek a while back. I'm sure he would send one if you email him.

Bob?! Where are ya Bob? I'll gladly pay for shipping, and whatever else you need to cover your time.

Hi John,

I also got a tracing from John Hall for a J-185 project I am planning in the spring.
