Hey JNH welcome to the OLF! [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap]

I noticed that you are in Canton - I am about 35 miles away from you and we have a bunch of members not far from you too.

Great to have you here AND your guitars look killer too!!!

northville eh? I do alot of work in northville. mostly renovations and a whole lot of librarys, and bars..

Mark that looks like a purty lumber pile. do you have a bandmill? I'm about 10k short of buying a nice used woodmizer..

Also if anybody needs to use a widebelt sander, I have one here at my shop.

i am sure some how or another that carved tail on the back relates to something at the peghead, Right? Can we see that?

your spot on Michael. I'm still tinkering with the final design, the more I carve it , the more it changes. im pretty sure that the end result will be a mix of inarsia and inlay.. this is just another example of how easy it is to get carried away by the intoxicating fumes of nice hardwoods...

I mill my own lumber with a csm.I like the idea of building a guitar from the tree i cut down. That makes the whole guitar totally hand built from start to finish. ;) The csm works so good at milling, i haven't even thought of getting a bandmill.Too much trouble sharping blades all the time. And having to bring a tree to the mill.I mill in the woods right where i drop the tree.
