I started buiding another "O" sized guitar because I miss the one I sold. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and sell this one also.
So here's my latest side grain rosette. It's made from Wenge, Bubinga, Satinwood and Paduak. The purfling and soundhole binding are White Oak, Purpleheart and Cherry. This was originaly to be yellow diamonds and orange diamonds interlaced. The satinwood was too bright and it looked like yellow diamonds with some other stuff. This way breaks up the yellow a bit more. So without further ado.

Interesting design Steven, and nice use of colored woods! [clap] [:Y:] [clap] [:Y:] [clap]

Did you go with 22 sections purposely, or is that just how it turned out?

Cheers,
Dave F.

Nice! I really like patterned wood rosettes.

Thanks for the complments.
It took about a week to do. That includes a day of design and drawing, otherwise known as wasting paper and watching t.v.
22 tiles, don't know what went wrong there. I designed it for 24 and it seemed to fit the full sized drawing so well. When I put the pieces in the work board, this is what I wound up with.

He-he! That's what I thought Steve.

Do you mind if I "borrow" your design - not exactly the same, but use it as a starting idea for a new one?

Cheers,
Dave F.

Nice bold pattern, Steven. I should read well from a distance.

Almost forgot my manners.
Ken,
Thank you. This one is neat in that it offers new visual cues as you go from a distance to close up. I planned that just like the 22 tiles.
Dave,
By all means use it if you like. It's a simple pattern and offers quite a few possibilities. I would enjoy seeing what else could be done.
