What epoxy would I be able to use for laminating this SS material. I'm not worried about matching the color up just a cheaper way to glue it up instead of the $39 stuff. I'm planning on using it for vacuum clamping frames and jigs and things. I bought about 110 sq.ft. of 1/2" damaged, scratched and left over pieces from 5' X 30" to 18" X 2' for $40. |

CA glue. Corian is acrylic, "ca" glue is cyanacrylate. I suppose epoxy could work ok, but it would not be a chemical bond. |

Talk to your nearest kitchen reno place - epoxy is fine .. thats what they glue the SS sinks to this stuff with . Or if you can find it, the actual Dupont resin they use to make it ..thats how they laminate it inthe first place .... |

Tony, I know they use an epoxy seam kit to match the corian but it's not too cheap and I'm just looking for alternative glues or epoxy for my purposes if you know what I mean. I'm not sure just what epoxy will work or if it's no big deal and it doesn't require a certain epoxy. I guess I might do some internet research later today and check it out. I'll be wanting to make some bridge vacuum clamps and the such. Possibly use the corian as a vacuum base for a bridge shaping jig. |

Chris, I don't think the SS matching glues are epoxy, but something MUCH nastier. Epoxy will work very well, just clean the faces, scuff sand with 60 - 80 grit, put a little filler in the epoxy, and clamp lightly. WEST, SystemThree, and probably any other slow curing structural epoxy will be ticket. I wouldn't use a finish grade for structural bonding, but structural has always worked well for me as a coating.
