Post subject:  Removing Fretboard Binding

I need to remove the binding from a fretboard that is attached to a neck. The binding was glued to the fretboard with Titebond and then attached to the neck with Gorilla glue. I'm thinking that the way to go is to get the Titebond to release with heat and then chisel it off. I thought about routing it but that seems a little scary since the radius of the fretboard will allow it to rock. Any advice?

I would use an old clothes iron onthe binding edge .. then separate it with a chisel or knife. I have to do that on an old Guild at some point this year - some goofball replaced the original broken stuff with pieces of opaque tie wraps of all things. What a mess.

How about building a caul to stop it from rocking, with something like friendly plastic, then routing it off?
