Waiting for some wood to arrive with the darn postal !!! :? So while waiting, I made me a Jig for inlaying. nothing fancy but I´ve tried it out and it works great. Saw it on the sound salon http://soundsalon.com/2007/05/14/dremel-base/ made some modefications to it though. the plastic is a big thick, but I used what I had at home. :) .

That's very similar to one that I use Lars. Mine is just made from 1/2" Baltic Birch plywood. I like the look of yours.

Well its no "precision" machine. :) I just turn the screws on the lower end as much as needed and lock it with the wingnuts.

If you have most of the material, then its a cheap way to build a great dremel base instead of paying 50 bucks at stewMac. ;)
All you need is 4 screws 2 pieces of threded rod, some hard plastic or similar, and then just do some drilling and tap the holes and your done.
Did my first inlay tonight, will sand it in the morning and post some shots.

Nice job Lars. Simple but effective and I have all the parts. I think I'll build one to replace my flimsy Dremel router base.

Give yourself a big ol` pat on the back, Lars. [:Y:]
What size tap did you need for mounting the Dremel?

Thanks my friends ! .

As you can see on the photos, the dremel attached is not the "main" dremel, its the attachment for the main dremel, and the screw on this one is smaller, so it only needs a 1/2" UNF tap. As the hard plastic I used was thick, "2cm" I first drilled a larger hole about half way through and made the hole so that the dremel could have a perfekt fit to the larger hole as screwed down.
