I'm in the midst of making a Williams type binding jig since it's so easy even a Yorkie can use it! I'm wondering if anyone has ideas on how to make the donut without the use of a lathe or calling on a machinist? Happy Holidays, Danny |

i dont have a picture on hand, but i just used a piece of scrap UHMW and chiseled i slight taper into the edge of the part that rides on the top and back of the guitar. i would guess that less important than the taper or radius is the amount that actually comes in contact with the top or back. i think if this is .250" or less you will probably be ok. does that make sense? if not, ill round up a picture. |

I would think you could cut a circle out of your material and put a center bolt into it and chuck it up in a drill press and file it or sand it into shape to work for you. Who knows maybe use a curved scraper would do the job or even better a radiused sanding block. |

Centre bolt and drill press. That'll work. Thanks Chris and all. Danny |

I used the circle cutter on my drill press to cut the donut out of UHMW. Just lower the cutter outside of the diameter of donut you want to finish cutting the base. |
