Been busy on #3 over here. Pure metal guitar. LP style, complete with skull inlays, black hardware and EMG 81/85 pups. Can't wait to get it done.

Filippo -

My wife would really like a tea box like that - I've tucked your photos away for future use!

Maybe it wasn't guitar related, but you could probably do lattice bracing now :D

Sprayed 9 coats and drop filled my first guitar using my new HVLP setup and carved the scroll for my fourth bandura waiting for the coats to set up. Gonna let the guitar sit for a few days before level sanding and spraying another 4 to 10 coats depending on how the level sanding goes.

Oh yea, and I bought a bunch of sharpening crap for my work sharp thingy on sale at Rockler - I actually managed to sharpen my gouges really well for a change. If you're someone who's more into using tools rather than spending time sharpening, I'd highly recommend one of those. They don't come out quite as sharp as scary or other methods (you can still shave with them) but you also can turn your brain off while doing it which I find highly helpful. Staying focussed for carving and sharpening gets to me after a while.

I've been working on the rosettes for #'s 2 & 3. Not too happy with the results so far.

Here's #2. I chiseled it out the other day, as some of the b/w at the edge slipped out, and there were just too many gaps in the finished rosette.

Here is #3. I may have to add a couple of lines on the outside to fix the nick in the top. That didn't show up till after I glued the rosette in. Still thinking about how to deal with it. There is also a tiny on on the inside edge on the opposite side.

Waddy these look really nice. You'll have to add some purfling indeed, and on both ends for symmetry' sake - you don't really have to make the soundhole 87.5 as per plan, an 85mm Torres style should work well too.

Myself I am getting ready to pore-fill my number 3 bliss already had strings on for about 1 week and it's my best yet bliss

I am currently doing the final assembly on 2 guitars that were recently finished for me by Joe White. The first is a round neck resonator guitar with a full body tobacco sunburst:

The 2nd guitar is a Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnought with a Bearclaw Adirondack Spruce top:

Also on the bench is a Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Spruce OM which will have Abalone top purfling and a vintage Flower Pot headplate inlay:

Not to be outdone by such great work...I've got the two SE117ish guitars closed up and ready for binding. The girls knew that these were coming so it was hardly worth wrapping, save for a nice bow.

And I finally got my first amp! A VOX Valvetronix AD15VT, so now I have now excuse to not go electric, except no time or money for parts...

Fun stuff folks. This forum is like a perennial show and tell!! Love it as it keeps me motivated to keep plugging along! I spent a few hours yesterday getting the last of my inlays cut and installed on my flyfishing themed fretboard. Funny as I spent much more time drawing and designing inlays than actually did cutting and installing. Still need to do the head stock yet. I have this week off work, so I should be able to get the neck buttoned up and maybe the rest of the build (x/spraying the finish) by next weekend.

Love those inlays Ken. Makes me long for those warm spring days and the Hendrickson hatch on the Farmington!
