Hi all, I wonder how thick your slants are for bending. I want to source this for a new bending machine and wonder what is best ... Thanks, Martin |

I am using 10 thou spring steel. I used to use 18 thou stainless, but this is much better. |

I use .012 stainless. I found the .020 to have too much spring-back when unclamping the bending shoes. The .012 seems to keep the shape better and is easier to work with. You can find it on Ebay or at Grainger http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/items/3L695 YMMV |

I use .012" blue spring steel slats from McMaster Carr. They are precut to 6" x 36". |

On non cutaways I use 2-.010" on cutaways I use .006" under and .008" over |

I use .015 spring steel slats i got from BluesCreek.They do a great job supporting the sides while being bent on my homemade bender. ![]() |
