I am building my first guitar and i was wondering if anyone had any extra quarter sawn walnut for sale , i tried using some black walnut my uncle had but it is impossible to bend the side because of the runout(keeps popping up and splitting), lmi has some but not what i am particularly looking for. |

Not sure what you are doing but Walnut bends like butter. What thickness are your sides? I suspect they are too thick or you are not letting your wood come up to temperature before bending. |
