Well folks, more whining. About the time I need my hands for income, the left and right rotator cuffs, long at moderate voice are now at full song. Apparently I have some ligament issues too. I can hardly palm and twist the child proof Rx caps. Heck, I can't even write for more than about an hour.( This is not at all funny. I take 40 mg of Vicodin a day and the shoulder and left upper arm hurt over an above that stuff) So, I have to judiciously use my left hand/arm(southpaw here). Would I be able to hire out building me the Wells/Karol jig for a PC 310- preferably in lucite or the like as is Arndt's? One kicker. I need to be able to guide bearings on an acoustic, then I need a substitute guide to work on arch carved LP style guitars as well. At the binding edge, that may just be 1 3/4" thick? Yes, I could make one, but I am actually making choices on what I do with my arm. That is, "IF I REMEMBER :) :) " I have my Harry and Don Special but it pulls at my arm in a way that fires it up. Pm please, or post, as you wish. Thank you. Mike T. PS- Not asking for a freebie here.

Mike are you asking for a binding cutter machine? Or a rosette cutter?

The Wells/Karol is a rosette/circle cutter.

The Williams/Fleishman is a binding cutter.

Thanks, Rod. I was confused. I was looking for the binding cutter jig- the one with bearings that guide on the side of the guitar. I recall that Arndt made a very nice polycarbonate one. But, I am doing these Les Paul copies so I need one that can close up the two bearings to register around 1 3/4" total height along the side. I may just have to buy the big dollar one from Chris K. I am in the smelly process of making "plastic" muti-layer W/B/W/B binding and cream/black/cream black . In that market, the well done binding/purfling is a real factor. Many of the cheapies have only a single cream or white bind, and top only(of course, a Standard is single bound and top only). The back is easy to do because it is flat but the arch on an LP starts as little as 3/4"-7/8" from the binding edge.

I want this type because holding and guiding that jig in place is going to be right hand dominant- I am left-handed but the better shoulder/arm is the right. I did some very crude mock-up and the right hand style was more comfortable(holding and balancing and moving along a vertical surface).I appreciate the response, Rod. Regards, mt
