As I was putting an order together with LMI, I noticed that McFadden has an actual transparent grain filler now, not the neutral stuff. Does anyone have any experience with this? Please lemme know. I ordered some to check it out, but experiences from anyone who has used it would be great. Thanks |

I've not tried it, but I'd love to hear how you get on with it when yours arrives Jim! Cheers, Dave F. |

I called McFadden to ask them about it, as I was interested as well. It is a conventional oil based filler that uses silex or another transparent bulking medium. I kind of lost interest in it once I heard it was oil based. The "wipe off with burlap across the grain" type oil fillers rarely do a whole lot in achieving a dead flat surface. But definitely let us know what happens with your finishing trials. |
