I made the suggested jig to hold the neck and body when using Stew-Mac's dovetail templates. Could anyone give me suggestions for the hold-down clamps to hold the neck when routing the tenon and also to hold the body when routing the mortise? Do you make two different sets of wooden clamps that use wing-nuts or is there a better way? (I'm using the same jig to hold the neck and the body.) Thanks, Bill |

Another thing you might consider is similar to what Benedetto uses in his jig. That is: route a dado into the upright piece where your neck mounts, and put a hardwood 'key' into the slot that mates with your trussrod slot on the neck, to help hold it absolutely vertical. |
