I'm getting ready to make a fret slotting jig for my table saw. I have the SM template and I need to know what the fingerboard thickness should be prior to cutting the slots so I can set the height of the index pin relative to the base. What thickness do you make your fingerboards prior to slotting and radiusing?

I use a 7/32" fret board thickness Vincent. Most use 1/4". I leave mine about 0.015" thicker, slot the board, radius just to the center line then follow up with 220 grit. Gets me close enough that over or under by 0.010" really doesn't matter.

Anywhere from 5 to 7mm, average 6, 7 on necks that are allowed to have a little more heft.
