Wow!! That's a beautiful instrument Alan... [clap] [clap] [clap] I have always liked Aussie Blackwood and love the curl and the depth it gives under finish. The maple binding goes well with it and I'll file that for future reference... I especially like the binding on the fretboard.. nice touch... really sets it off against the top and rosette.

Keep up the great work!!

Allen, once again that's some beautiful work. The blackwood sure does shimmer.

Thanks guys. The binding on the fret board is just some off cuts from the sides. I managed to get enough for bindings on a couple more guitars if I'm careful. I think that you pretty well need to put binding on a fret board like this. The inlaid frets are a bit obtrusive if you don't cover the ends.

Tasty! The only problem with it I have is no sound clip. That and I can't play it myself.

Allen, that really is pretty.
Did you introduce any stain into the equation, or is that the actual color of your Blackwood? I really like it.

Steve

No stain at all Steve. Just 1 coat of WEST Systems neat, and 1 coat cut 50/50 with metho to wet everything out after it was sanded back. Then the lacquer.
